about James Chocolates

James Hutchins started making chocolate by hand back in 1995. He’d been working in a Bristol delicatessen and became fascinated by the exotic ingredients and different flavour combinations that lined the shelves.

He channeled this new-found foodie enthusiasm into his love of great chocolate and, using his background as a scientist, began experimenting in his kitchen at home during the evenings.

Nearly 20 years on, James is still at the heart of the business and his vision and creativity fuels all chocolate development. James Chocolates can be found in delicatessens, farm shops, garden centres and department stores across Britain and increasingly in the world’s finest food halls. 

James’ sense of fun and his love of distinctive flavour combinations remains the brand’s hallmark. Whatever next?
